Looks like Arch is a great desktop OS but there are several shortcomings
that impede its use as a full fledged maia server.

It can certainly fill certain aspects of the maia ecosystem, such as DB
server or maiad/clamd/spamassassin host, but difficulties with pear
prevent it from functioning as the web portal.

If anyone is interested in Arch as a maia platform and wants to work on
this, let me know.
