[PATCH] dovecot bug with dots in usernames

I've recently found a problem with dovecot when dots are present in usernames.
Since vmailmgr replaces dots with colons in paths, the MAILDIR provided to
dovecot is truncated at the colon.  This is due to some internal behaviour
of dovecot's where it treats colons special (looking for :<tag>= in the path).
Patches for dovecot versions 0.99.14 and 1.0.alpah2 can be found here:

I sent the patches to the author, but he won't be including them unless
others request/report the problem.  He also tells me that dovecot 2.0 won't
have this issue.
