In order to get mySQL support to compile in VQAdmin, I needed to change some settings in the make file to properly include the paths to the MySQL library (/usr/local/mysql/lib)... the default ones in the make file were looking to the wrong place. Once I did this I was able to compile with no problem. Of course, turning off mysql support also fixes this, but that's likely not the point.
