at least it is your wife ;). Well, I think that is a feature. The
hmw/complete-and-expand-mailabbrev function uses several methods to
expand 'wife'. First it tries expand-abbrev, which I think finds the
hotmail address. I think the default location for that data is
~/.emacs.d/abbrev_defs. Maybe you find the culprit there?
