auto plug off ?? what?

For some reason wanderlust has gotten in to a weird situation for
me...  where 'there are 42 pending actions, do you want to complete
them?' (or similar verbiage)

then when I say: "y"

I get some tls dialogue (which is too fast to read all off) and:
  "auto-plug off"

as a final message.. then 0/42 actions successful..

I had to change imap/smtp hostnames, is there some log with embedded
hostnames I need to twiddle perhaps?
