Wanderlust strips such "[ABC:000]" string from subject in summary
buffer. Its purpose is to remove strings added by ML engines. You
can customize the behavior by changing wl-summary-default-subject
variable. Or override wl-summary-default-subject function by the
below code.
(defun wl-summary-default-subject (subject-string)
(if (string-match "^[ \t]*\\[[^:]+[,: ][0-9]+\\][ \t]*\\([^ \t].*\\)$"
subject-string)
(match-string 1 subject-string)
subject-string))
