Hmmm... why don't you use the current import mechanism? You can specify 
an alternative path for the import if the default one doesn't work for 
you:

alt.dev.szmail.mbox.SZMboxImport.properties
path=/My/Very/Own/Path
  configure a specific directory for import. This needs to be an 
absolute path
