Hmmm... this sounds very bad :/ On the other hand, I haven't run into this problem yet :) In any case, what platform are you running (OS, JVM, etc)? Could you send a bug report with all those informations? http://localhost:10080/bug/ Here is how it goes under, er, "normal conditions": when a user is created, it get assign a unique identifier (that infamous long hex number). This identifier is used to retrieve the user data (mails, indices, objects, etc). A user is only created once. The user name is based on your OS user name as reflected by the Java 'user.name' property. If the name remain constant, its identifier remain the same as well. In other words, a new identifier is created for every distinct user name. Could it be that you are running the app under different OS accounts?
