I use SSL to tunnel all my email/pop/imap/http/smb/etc etc at home, as we use a laptop running wifi. i don't use WEP as i keep my node open for other to use, i'm using publicIP's software (http://www.publicip.com), but i don't want them to snoop on what i'm doing. TLS, in this case, is not needed, as i'm already secure from the laptop to the server (in my basement). Again, as Marco said, its really just for that last-mile feeling of security, as everywhere else everything is in the open. If i really want to hide my email's, i use PGP or GPG to encrypt/sign them. j -- jos yule Digital Hyakugei http://www.theorganization.net mailto:[email protected] aim:josyule icq:295196397 yahoo:digital_hyakugei msn:[email protected] ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
