Dear ZOErs,

After reading this discussion about mail backups on Slashdot (
http://ask.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/03/12/215231&tid=215&tid=198&tid=9
5&tid=4)
I tried to come up with some solution for me. Reading the comments I had the
impression that one of the best solutions is to maintain the archive on IMAP
server (due to the fact that IMAP supports folders, for more "organized"
archive, I suppose).

One of my first thought however, while I was looking for something for me,
was
... ZOE. I wanted to have the way to access all my mail from anywhere on the
net and to be able to search through it in convenient way (read: using web
interface and possibly, IMAP). ZOE does all of this. The only concern would
be
secure access to the mail archive from the outside, AFAIK ZOE does not
provide
any SSL-based encryption as it works primarily on user's desktop machines
and
are not accessed from the outside.

I would like to ask what do you think about such approach -- is it viable?
or
maybe you have different ideas/approaches?

greetings,

L.
