How the hell did you acquire his FX7?

I was just looking for a cheap synth (I'm a student and was sick of 
saving up) and I saw a dx7 going for £200 on the Sound on Sound site. 
The previous owner claimed to have engineered some of their work and 
that this DX7 was used on 808state's 2nd and 3rd albums. I didn't 
really believe him at first but the guy (his name's Al if you're out 
there some place) turned out to be working for Pete Waterman Ltd 
which makes the story a whole lot more credible. Anyway, he also gave 
me some advice on what other gear to get but I'm still stuck with a 
rhythm synthesizer (er-1), dx7, tx81z and an old 80's sequencer 
plugged through my dj mixer:)

The sounds of the Cocteau Twins etc have convinced me now though... I 
need some kind of delay!!! The Alesis Microverb 3 is looking the most 
promising (and affordable!!).

I hope people don't mind me posting this to the list... If anyone has 
an old Mackie 1602 studio mixer or an (even older) Lexicon delay 
(even a pedal one). Do tell please:)
