the "sounds of 4ad" was an apparently legit promo from taiwan (see link 
below) that featured a tracklisting borrowed directly from the "lillput" 
double cd compilation. this is a holy grail type 4ad release, even 
harder to find than "you can rely on toast". the lush/cocteau/dcd/pixies 
package cj spoke of is a canadian promo from polygram. it featured full 
cds by lush "gala", cocteaus "heaven", dcd "aion" and pixies "live in 
chicago 1989" - all wrapped in a little folder case like cj described. 
4ad were never licensed to nonesuch, though 4ad was a warner distributed 
label from 1992 through 1998.
