Oooh, harsh words, sir.
Anyway, I've been listening to a lot of old '90s 'classic'
electronic albums recently, some I hadn't played for years. Some
examples:
Wagon Christ - Phat Lab. Nightmare (Rising High, 1994)
U-Ziq - Tango N Vectif (Rephlex, 1993)
B12 - Electro Soma (Warp, 1993)
Beaumont Hannant - Texturology (GPR, 1994)
Vibert Simmonds - Weirs (Rephlex, 1993)
Fuse - Dimension Intrusion (Warp, 1993)
Sandoz - Intensely Radioactive (Touch, 1994)
Neuro#Project - The Electric Mothers Of Invention (3 Beat, 1993)
Tanzmuzik - Sinsekai (Rising High, 1994)
Black Dog Productions - Bytes (Warp, 1993)
Autechre - Incunabula (Warp, 1993)
Sweet Exorcist - Spirit Guide To Low Tech (Touch, 1994)
also the recent re-issue of Boards Of Canada's first album 'Twoism'
from 1995.
Makes you realise what a brilliant period of creativity this was, in
the wake of Aphex's 'Selected Ambient Works 85-92'. Anyone wanna
mention any other forgotten masterpieces?
Nick
