And you know what?  That’s what a community does.  
 
But at the same time, this community has lived with this fire policy for 20+ I
think, so it sounds like it is a good thing for the rest of the country to keep
their noses out of.
 
Also I was reading another article about the various departments in this county
that provide this.  One captain interviewed runs an unpaid volunteer only team,
and has an $8000 annual budget. That 75 bucks might actually mean more than we
thing it does.

Actually, people have been raising money to help the guy out.  Most people who
are okay wih him "sponging off" their $75.
(If I had $75 available?  I'd do it.  But right now?  I do not have $75 for
myself or anyone else.)
