Obama and the democrats could turn this election upside down right now if
they came out and took a populist stand against the banks.  1/2 of the Tea
Party would rally to the cause.  I think the fact that they don't shows
just how much they've been captured.  I'm convinced more than ever that
the 2 parties are really just 1 party.

As for the Tea Party being co-opted by the Republicans...yet another 3rd
party potential destroyed by the status quo.   I don't think anything
short of war, economic collapse or revolution can change the current power
structure of America now.  Depressing.
