Yes they are different. A wacko anti abortionist might kill a doctor, he would
be fairly unlike to blow up the school the doctors kids go to, or the safeway
the doctor shops at.

I know it is tempting to try and empathize and ensure we are not over
generalizing. But there are differences. The extreme factions in the muslim
world are fairly unique.

And yes, I would agree that they may not be the majority in their faith. But
the are accepted far more widely than Christian extremists.

This is frustrating. We are engaged in a debate about Juan Williams and appear
to be debating things he did not say.

You know, the more I think about this, the more I question it. There
is definitely a sick minority of Muslims that support suicide bombers
blowing up marketplaces indiscriminately (and I think Thom is right to
say Christianity has its own share of sickos), but that's not going to
be nearly the number of Muslims that are willing to accept civilian
deaths as collateral damage. The latter Muslims, are they really so
different than ourselves? How many American Christians are willing to
accept civilian deaths as collateral damage when it comes to our
bombs?
