I'm not suggesting that anyone functions in a vacuum. There always
have been and always will be small pockets of wackos (not necessarily
categorized by faith) that foster extreme viewpoints. My point is that
these are not highly-organized, well-funded, international
organizations with powerful sympathizers, which are dedicated to
violence against non-believers. That's a difference, and a big one.

I think we're talking past each other here. I would categorize all of
the above as "a couple of nuts." Local troublemakers pooping in their
own backyard. That has always happened, and it always will. I'm
talking about a global threat to peace and progress.
