How would it be communicated to you or Cross how many Christians are willing to
ask those questions?  And who are they supposed to ask those questions?  I've
asked myself questions about healthcare issues and I'm pretty sure nearly
everyone, regardless of beliefs, has given thought to healthcare and how it
should be paid for.

Indeed, and I don't think the implication is that it's a simple
problem. My point (and, I believe, Cross') is that is befuddling how
many Christians aren't even willing to ask the sensible questions
you've posed.
