The problem is in the definitions. This is a discussion where the answer is
likely found in the details, but we can't even agree on common language, much
less the subtle intricacies. Caring for the sick and poor isn't necessarily
fixed by 'universal health care,' especially as defined by this government
(which I take to be more about control and less about service). 

If the church was doing its job and helping the sick and poor, the government
wouldn't have to.

I think it is entirely possible to be Christian and still have doubts about how
to best assist the sick and poor. I care and am active in my local community and
my local church. I trust that those who know me best will understand that's not
nothing even if I don't support what passes for 'universal health care' in this
day and age in America.

even the secular world recognizes the moral sense in doing something
Christ commanded, how are followers of Christ unable to support it?
