Well, one thing I often see brought up is that the per-capita
government spending on health care in the United states is higher than
it is in Canada.  Most data I can find comes from OECD

So, in 2007, Canada's total public & private spending combined is
about the same amount as the public dollars per capita spent by the US
-- around $3,000.  Then on top of that, there is another $3,000 per
capita of private money.  It's no wonder some things are better in the
US when you have double the total investment per-capita.  But, IMHO,
Canada seems to be getting more value for it's money.
