As I am the 'words mean things' guy, I'll agree that a 'step' is not a 'stomp'

Whether you call it a 'step' or a 'stomp,' the guy was part of a gang of thugs
who physically assaulted a zealous woman whose own attack was limited to the
conceptual. I'm totally fine with this guy earning all the collective grief he's
getting. She was perhaps overproud of her clever little zinger sign and pride
goes before a fall, but the idea there is that God will judge, not some Kentucky
yokels. The fact that he's expecting an apology from her just shows how clueless
he is for his own sins.

The whole thing was overblown, and while she was perhaps naive for thinking she
would be safe delivering her little barb, I'm saddened that any of these
resulted in physical violence. If his point is that she was guilty of conceptual
violence and he was wounded as a result of her criticism of his favorite
candidate, all sympathy is rendered null when he took it to the level of
physical attack. 

Also, grow a pair and take a little political disagreement like a man. Sheesh.
What is this guy, twelve?

To be fair, everybody is calling it a stomp, so the word is hardly unique to
Thom.

The real issue here is that while she was perhaps unwise to boldly attempt to
publicly upbraid Rand Paul with her sign, she didn't initiate violence, violence
was initiated on her. That's where it crossed the line.

I would have looked at the sign, smiled, said 'Well played,' and moved along. I
don't have to take personal umbrage at every person who has an alternate
perspective.

This kind of Blue state / Red state vilifying of the opposition bullshit has got
to stop. Paul and I come from radically different political perspectives, and
yet I consider him one of my closest friends. My politics inform me, they don't
define me. God defines me. The rest is mere detail good for extra flavor.

You are really going to step up and defend this guy?  At best?  He steps on her
head and applies pressure until someone told him to stop.  He and several large
men forced a smaller woman to the ground who was holding a sign.  And he
intentionally steps on her head.  And he wants an apology?   That's ridiculous.
