I've actually thought of this frequently over the last ten years. If something were to happen to me, how would my online family find out? Especially in an environment like this one, where it's not unusual for one of us to go MIA for months at a time. I think Facebook has more or less taken care of that concern, though. There's enough crossover between my real-world friends and my online friends that *somebody* would see a post about my demise, and word would get around. Also, being a morbidly curious person (or curiously morbid, take your pick), I've spent a few minutes here and there wondering which of us would be the first to go, and how it would feel, and how I (assuming I'm not the deceased person) would deal with it, being so far removed from the funeral proceedings and whatnot. If time and money allowed, I could travel for it (and make no mistake, there's not a man among you for whom I wouldn't feel compelled to do so if possible), but then how awkward would that be, not knowing *anyone* else there.
