President Obama skewered by Jon Stewart in 'Daily Show' interview

Jon Stewart . . . asked if Obama's slogan should have been, "Yes, we can 
-- but . . ."

Obama said, "My attitude is [that] if we're making progress step by step, 
inch by inch, day by day, that we are being true to the spirit of that 
campaign. What I would say is, 'Yes, we can,' but it is not going to 
happen overnight."

Obama then ticked off the administration's accomplishments -- giving a 
shout-out to Lawrence Summers, the outgoing director of the White House 
National Economic Council.

Summers did "a heckuva job," Obama observed, echoing President George W. 
Bush's infamous words to his FEMA director amid the chaos of Hurricane 
Katrina.

"You don't want to use that phrase, dude," Stewart warned.
