I downloaded the first episode from iTunes and am watching it now. I am not really connecting him with Doyle's Holmes, but I'm enjoying this all the same. I keep linking it in my mind to "Numb3rs" and "The Mentalist." I'm guessing that I'm too influenced by Basil Rathbone's and Jeremy Brett's portrayals at this point to identify with this portrayal - I don't remember his name right now.
