That is pretty much where I've come down on the issue. I'm not sure that I'll refuse to participate in the sham for future elections but this year non-voting is my form of protest. I do think refusing to participate in the political process is perfectly legitimate response to take when one has no faith in it. It may not make a difference in changing the system but voting doesn't either and in a sense lends legitimacy to an illegitimate system.
