Re: Faith-based Fail

I had the feeling that The Black Hole was supposed to be something of a
remake (or at least a riff) on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, where the
captain was an enigmatic Nemo-like character. At the time, I was simply
thrilled to see Disney trying to do Science Fiction.

Tron feels to me like Office Space, a film so far from Hollywood that the
director could do whatever he wanted and so lives as a rare example of the
studio not getting too much in the way of a great story. Not surprisingly,
those two films are two of my favorites and both make my top ten list.
