[Doctorow] 'All laws are local'

I like Cory Doctorow an awful lot, however, I am not a blind adherent of his
views. In this article, Cory observes something I think is largely true with
one glaring example; as a Christian, I think one law is indeed global. In
fact, I think it is not just universal, but superuniversal, and that is
this: God exists, and His way supersedes anything else, including the
otherwise fascinating observation that all laws are local.

In short, some great many laws in our world are, indeed, man-made and
subjective. It matters not if one culture has a prohibition against pork
while I will go out of my way for a McRib sandwich. But that is not to say
there is no one objective law that supersedes all these other subjective
ones. What matters most is what God says matters. Everything else is
secondary to that.
