I agree that accusations of killing someone over a lie are more severe than accusations of not caring about a group of people. But those are accusations about what he believed and what he did, in concert with a great many other people who agreed with him and still do. He still stands by his decisions, and those accusations come with the game. I doubt there's ever been a ruler during wartime who hadn't been accused of the same. The accusations of racism are about who or what he *is*, his personal identity. And, to his credit, Bush has done far more to work against those very perceptions than many others in his party.
