How on earth can you not have people aligning by ideology?

I mean, I get what you are saying, but in a practical sense, how can you ever
mange it?

I think it is time to do away with political parties. They are the cause of so
much of what is wrong with our political system...the catalyst to the money and
financing corruption so prevalent in government. I think George Washington was
correct:

“The common and continual mischiefs of the spirit of party are sufficient to
make it the interest of a wise people to discourage and restrain it. It serves
always to distract the public counsels and enfeeble the public administration.
It agitates the community with ill founded jealousies and false alarms; kindles
the animosity of one part against another, foments occasional riot and
insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which find
a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party
passions.”

Huh. I didn't vote against any EHA.

I voted against a party that was so arrogant and corrupt that they signed
contracts forcing the new Republican administration to honor contracts totaling
$810 million for a high speed rail line the state's denizens don't want. It's
like selling a house and then after signing the papers, leaving the new
homeowners on the hook for a new roof, garage, and windows. It's dirty pool at
its best.

Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council that is. He apparently doesn't see

"Last night millions of Americans went to the polls to express their strong
disagreement with the change President Obama has brought to Washington . Out of
control spending, government takeovers of health care and other private
enterprise and an allegiance to a pro-abortion/anti-family coalition are all
issues the American people said 'Enough!' to last night.

"When it comes to the homosexual agenda, the American people could not be
clearer. The flipping of at least six state legislatures, the defeat of three
justices in Iowa who imposed same-sex 'marriage' and the defeat of the House
Member leading the charge to overturn the current military policy are all
examples of how the American people have grown tired of the Democratic Party's
adherence to an anti-family coalition.

"I agree with the President that Congress should wait for the coming report from
the military on changing the current policy. However, that does not mean
Congress should rubber stamp any study. The study itself is likely to have
problems, and the next natural step would be to have the new 112th Congress hold
hearings on the issue.

"The arrogance of the President and his allies in Congress, many of whom will
not return in the new Congress, to force such a drastic change on our military
in the middle of fighting two wars is disrespectful of our troops, and should
not be tolerated."

Out of control spending was a part of it...but it was really a statement against
the Evil Homosexual Agenda.
