Re: Death penalty

Again my seriousness radar is off today.

But I would support a system which gives the victim's family the ultimate say of 
whether the death penalty should be applied.  There is not equal justice problem 
with that because a fundamental proposition in the law is that you take a victim 
as you find him, and that would include whatever disposition the victim's family 
has towards the death penalty.

As far as as guns I don't think the presence of one guarantees anything but I'd 
prefer my chances with one than without one.

I think we should give diplomatic immunity to the husband and then turn
the guy loose.

I don't know the details of the crime, but I wonder if there would have
been a different result if the household had firearms?  Instead of the
father running next door for help, perhaps he could have helped himself
and his own family.
