Here's another question:  When do toys become sentient?

We've seen that Buzz Lightyears seem to think they are genuine astronauts 
in suspended animation until they are taken out of their rocket-shaped 
boxes.  But what about *other* toys in *other* packages?  The Stinky Pete 
that we meet in TS2 was never purchased, yet he was apparently *conscious* 
of the fact all his fellow toys were flying off the shelves, and this 
caused a deep resentment in him ... and no one expresses surprise when 
they see him in the box and talk to him through the cellophane.
