Pacificism is not passive-ism. (Hey, I just made that up. I should copywrite it and sell t-shirts.) I don't have a problem with calling in others to help me when someone is threatening me or my family. I have no problem physically coercing another person into submission. But I simply do not agree that calling for help is an implicit acknowledgement that said help might kill the offender -- even when (lord, *especially* when) the help I'm enlisting is from the police. In other words, yes, it's possible that they might kill the offender. Anything is *possible.* But I don't think it's a reasonable expectation. I also feel that, however strongly you may feel otherwise, you'd have a hard time finding a lot of official support for your position. As I said, we had an instance like that here locally, and it resulted in the shooter losing his job, and the city being sued. -- -pcg [email protected] -- dadl-ot mailing list http://mail.thehood.us/mailman/listinfo/dadl-ot_thehood.us http://news.gmane.org/gmane.music.dadl.ot
