Someone who objects to execution on the grounds that it cuts short a person's time to find redemption isn't likely to be persuaded by the counter (sincere or otherwise) that you're merely speeding up the process.< Its no better or worse than the argument that it is a counter against. No one can say with, anything close to certainty, what will motivate a particular individual to seek redemption/forgiveness. Using it one way or the other in an argument on capital punishment seems rather silly to me.
