No one can say, with anything close to certainty, what will motivate a
child to seek success as an adult, either. But anyone in their right
mind will give their child every possible opportunity to allow that to
happen.

**sure.  That also includes holding the child accountable for their actions.
All parents have to make hard choices, so does society.

The point is plain. Allowing someone a longer opportunity doesn't
ensure that they will find redemption, no -- but cutting their time
short (particularly when we have no recommendation from God to do so)
inarguably interferes with that opportunity.

 I don't feel comfortable
making that decision, particularly when my own eternal redemption is
so very undeserved.
