The "you" should have been understood to be generic.  Thom had used the 
generic you and spelled it out.  I hoped that that and the context would 
make it clear I wasn't intending that to any specific person.  Sorry I 
wasn't more clear.

But it isn't hypersensitivity.  More like disgust at how ridiculous the 
language policing has become.  Why on earth people seem so eager to take 
offense where none is intended is beyond me.
