Sci-Fi author John Steakley died this weekend, as well. He wrote only one
novel of note, Armor, but for my money, it was Starship Troopers on
steroids, a really standout novel. I always wanted to see what he'd do next,
but all he did was something called Vampire$, which John Carpenter adapted
into some kind of non-sparkly vampire movie.
