Well you missed (or chose to ignore) his point entirely.  He is questioning
the *foreign policy* that supposedly justifies the *need* for the spying and
meddling our government engages in abroad as revealed by the leaks.

And who would be this arbiter?  The government?  But what if the government
itself is corrupt (or maybe just has delusions of grandeur)?  Again, all the
more reason to utilize any constitutional protections we can to insist on
reducing the size and scope of the state.  Predictably, most of those in 
government are trying to use this opportunity to seize and centralize more
power... :(
