The point is that the government has abused it's need for secrecy to the point
of absurdity and it is time to bust it all wide open.  If there is minor
collateral damage, then so be it.  It is for the greater  good to keep
government power in check.
Also, the press is either an abysmal failure or else it has become just another
arm of state power.

Yes, I agree, keeping the plans hidden is stupid, but calling that a civil
liberty issue just seems like we are cheapening the concept more than it already
is.
 
You say “doing crap like this”, but I am failing to see a victim here.  This is
not thuggary, this is stupid bureaucracy.

You know, when we have government doing crap like this with impunity...I think a
good dose of wikileaks is in order.
The government is supposed to be of the people, by the people, for the
people....but they sure don't want the people knowing what they are doing. Is
there nothing that the government can't claim needs to be secret?
