You can tie them together into what I personally think is a feel good position, but I think that that is part of what is wrong. We can actually debate individual elements on their merits. I would support it if it had an expiration or even a phase out (after x weeks the benefits diminish gradually). Permanent UI means a permanent dependency. And having been on unemployment, I can tell that it IS a disincentive. When I was on UI, I knew I had 26 weeks. For the first 2 months, I was picky. After the 3rd month I was less so.
