Well, I've been twice about 8 years ago.  But the 2nd time was only  
because on our last day of our first cruise, they gave us coupons for  
a 2nd cruise for $99  with the purchase of each new ticket  so we  
invited my parents to go with us and we got a 2nd cruise for  
practically nothing.  And, as vacations go...a 3 or 4 day Disney  
cruise isn't  really that expensive compared to say spending a week at  
Disney World.  Plus it is all inclusive which makes it easier for  
budgeting purposes.  I will say though that last time I priced them,  
prices do seem to have gone up a bit.

But your point is well taken.  I probably make within the top quintile  
of salaries, however that is still very middle class and considering  
that my wife doesn't work (by choice) and we have just one income, I  
very much identify with the everyday office worker who has to grind it  
out every day.  I'm just a typical middle manager in an office  
environment.  My neighbors and co-workers generally  make more than I  
do because they have both husband and wife working.  We still live  
frugally (debt free yay!)  and have consciously chosen to budget and  
spend a significant portion of our income on travel, both vacations  
and weekend excursions as an educational opportunity for our children.  
We feel that experiences are more important than "things" and thus we  
are a well travelled family, more than most.  But that comes at the  
expense of other things.  As homeschoolers, we also spend a  
significant amount of money on education and supplemental classes.

I admit we aren't normal working class, but we aren't wealthy either.   
We struggle to make our monthly budget given our priorities.
