Sigh.  One day, one day...  The twins start kindergarten next year, and 
the two-year-old starts it two years later...

If memory serves, you rent your curent home, you don't own it, right? 
We're lucky enough to be debt-free too, apart from our mortgage, though we 
figure we may need the extra income in a few years when it comes time to 
move to a bigger place.  Two bedrooms is fine for a family of five when 
three of us are between the ages of 2 and 4, but at some time the kids may 
need more room ... especially given that one's a girl and two are not.

Hmmm, sounds like something we should keep in mind, too.  We haven't 
really done much traveling with the kids yet; we did drive to Alberta for 
my sister's wedding a few months ago, but that may be it.  (I can think of 
a couple other trips we've taken, back in '07 and '08, but the twins were 
so young then -- and Nicholas hadn't even been born in time for one of 
them -- that I can't really consider the trips "educational" at all.)

Right, so you're middle class.  "Working class" to me implies someone who 
works in a mine or a factory or something like that -- something physical 
that doesn't require much of an education beyond high school etc.  It 
doesn't simply mean "people who have jobs".

Hmmm.  I wonder if the term could include plumbers, etc. -- people who do 
very physical work but can sometimes be self-employed freelance types, 
rather than one of the masses working for The Man.
