Maybe. I imagine the isolation they were in was much more harsh however as they were in a foreign country and had no idea when their release would come. Being a prisoner of a hostile country would seem to me to be more intense. > Why are they treating Manning like > that? > > **because he is in the army and he is in confinement awaiting trial? > This is not a special deal to punish him, this is standard treatment. Hm. **I had to escort a guy in base confinement, he had to ask permission to walk past lines on the floor...several of them just to get to the guard station. This being maximum I am not really surprised at the descriptions. And even for all this, he is fed, he has a small amount of free time and he at least knows he has a chance to prove himself at trial. > **I dont know how accurate that story is Interesting update at the bottom: << I was contacted by Lt. Ack... **shrug. Sorry that jail is a bit rough. Maybe not breaking the law is a better choice next time. **Assange is what he is, I can at least understand him. I have no sympathy for a guy in the military who swears an oath and know the consequences. The whistle blower stuff is crap, there is a designated chain of command for that stuff that has full protection, even congressional protection. His defense is crap. -- dadl-ot mailing list http://mail.thehood.us/mailman/listinfo/dadl-ot_thehood.us http://news.gmane.org/gmane.music.dadl.ot
