Re: True Grit

Echoing many agreements: the movie theater was packed, more full than any
movie I've seen in years, was very funny (situational humor, character-based
interaction humor), solid star performances from Bridges and Steinfeld. I
know why Matt Damon was mumbling but couldn't figure why Josh Brolin or
Barry Pepper were mumbling. Pepper was great in the Robert Duvall role, if a
bit wasted as Paul observed. We know why Maddie was going after Tom Chaney -
we are only told why Cogburn is going after Ned Pepper.

This was a lush movie that felt completely organic. I believed everything
they claimed happened. This is one of my top three movies of the year.
