Except most of those other countries are turning increasingly secular and 
nobody even *cares* about the national religions there any more.  (You 
could argue, of course, that secularism is a "religion" in its own way -- 
but this would *not* be an argument in favour of treating secular 
documents with quasi-religious reverence etc.!)

Absolutely.  And I don't say that because I think lower taxes or fighter 
jets are bad.  I just don't see a single "Christian position" on those 
issues, and I'd rather not yoke my faith to either side of those debates.
