Admittedly, our proximity to you Yanks has compromised us.  Corrupted us, 
even.  :)

I mean, on the one hand, I insist on keeping the "u" in "colour" and 
"honour" and so forth, just like every other good Canadian.  But I also 
tend to use the "-ize" suffix instead of the "-ise" suffix, which is more 
of an American thing than a British thing.  So there's that.
