Well, it's certainly possible that she's *louder* than them and has a more 
concentrated fan base ...

Early centuries A.D.?  It's always seemed like more of a medieval thing to 
me ... and sure enough, Wikipedia says it can be traced back to the 12th 
century.  (Though it does note that pagan Greeks were making anti-Jewish 
slurs in the 1st century B.C. ... which wouldn't be A.D.)

If you can call preaching to the choir "persuading people".  I'd be 
interested to know how often she has actually changed someone's mind about 
something.
