This doesn't really tie into the article in any way, but FWIW, the other night I finally got around to preparing our church's "financial report", or "financial statement", or both -- whatever they're called. And then, last night, I prepared the tax receipts for everyone who gave our church tithes over the past year. There are times I think I should have been an accountant. I mean, my eyes glaze over whenever economists and whatnot start throwing around all their financial-sector jargon. But I like numbers. Love 'em, in fact. And being in charge of the church's finances is like the wickedest game of Sudoku. If that makes any sense. I especially get a kick out of the fact that my cell phone -- an Android, which I've had for only five months now -- has an app provided by our church's bank, and that I can access my church's bank-account information at any time with a few taps on my touchscreen. (Yes, I *am* the kind of guy who needs to know that the cheques he wrote have been cashed.) Um, sorry, Lance, that's two of your threads I've tangentialized, now. -- dadl-ot mailing list http://mail.thehood.us/mailman/listinfo/dadl-ot_thehood.us http://news.gmane.org/gmane.music.dadl.ot
