What, triggering as in "if they read this they will want to be gay?" or
similar?

I am trying to understand the context.  I read the synopsis on one opf the
books, not sure what it is believed to 'trigger'

I've come across the term. I'm surprised they didn't just consider
adding a warning. I once read a couple threads on a feminist/support
forum, and personal stories that could potentially be triggering for
others just had a warning at the start.
