Heh.  I too listened to KLYN's solid rock radio program (was that the 
title), but mostly, I think, after I became a DA fan, because I didn't 
like most of what I heard.  I was introduced to DA by an Art's column 
which ran in Peter's old paper, Christian Info, by a local theatre 
producer and actor(?) named Ron Reed.  It was at a time when I had 
"re-discovered" exciting music after nearly settling into a steady diet 
of MOR CCM.  Nothing wrong with some of that, but I was listening to a 
lot of it, and then my brother got U2's War for Christmas, and I 
borrowed it, as I'd read that some of the group were Christians, and was 
blown away by the volume and sheer energy of it.  At that time, I was 
also getting into Bruce Cockburn's music, around the time Ron Reed had 
written an article about the real Bruce the Boss (Cockburn rather than 
Springstein!), and shortly after that he wrote an article about 
"Temporary Christian Music," and how average a lot of the CCM was.  That 
was about where I was too, so when he said in his next column he's 
reveal what was worth listening to, I was waiting.  Of course, it turned 
out to be DA, and so I went out and bought Doppelganger and Vox Humana, 
and that was that.  Upon the release of FS, I thought the band was 
brilliant, and recall hearing The Pool and Instruction Thru Film and 
Strong Points Weak Points rotated on KLYN's saturday night show with 
some regularity.  They also sampled quite regularly from DFBB.  Ah, 
those were the days.

Looking back, I can see that Ron Reed's columns made a fair impression 
on me, and played a role in my increasing musical sophistication! So 
Peter, and Ron wherever you are, and all you other writers out there, 
you never know when your words, or even which words, will make a big 
impact on people.  Write thoughtfully and carefully!!  It's a grave 
responsibility...
