Was the column in question the one that began with Ron saying that a friend told him he should hear a certain album, and that Ron then said he recognized the band's name and wasn't expecting anything special (perhaps because he associated them with their country origins), and that the actual album then turned out to be surprisingly impressive (presumably because it was one of the Alarma! discs), etc.?
